Aston Villa dominated the match from start to finish
Aston Villa secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon. Goals from Ollie Watkins and Douglas Luiz sealed the three points for the home side, who were in control of the match from start to finish.
Watkins opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a close-range finish after being set up by Leon Bailey. The Jamaican winger caused the Forest defense problems all afternoon with his pace and skill.
Luiz doubled Villa's lead in the 29th minute with a stunning free-kick from 25 yards out. The Brazilian curled the ball into the top corner of the net, giving Forest goalkeeper Dean Henderson no chance.
Forest improved slightly in the second half, but they were unable to create any clear-cut chances. Villa defended resolutely and saw out the game with ease.
The victory moves Villa up to ninth in the Premier League table, while Forest remains in 13th place.
